DOCTOR is an optometrist/ophthalmologist, and is a “covered entity” within the meaning of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA”), and the standards for the Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (“Privacy Rule”) promulgated by the Department of Health and Human Services.

ODG provides Contact Lenses/Spectacle Lenses to DOCTOR, which services necessarily involve access to, generation of, use of, or disclosure of health information that identifies individual patients (protected health information – “PHI”).

At Optical Distributor Group, protecting your patient records is very important. We value your trust and we want you to understand that the information provided in order to correctly process your patient’s orders, is secure and protected. ODG will maintain the physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect all personal information provided and adhere to guidelines as outlined by H.I.P.A.A.

Information collected through this website is used for shipping and billing purposes, to fill customer orders, to create enhancements to our website, to contact registered customers about services and policy changes on our site. The information collected by ODG is never shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

Information security is one of our highest practices, as described in our internal Employee Handbook and the agreements that we sign with our contact lens supplier partners. Protected Health Information will not be disclosed unless expressly permitted in writing by the ECP of record and you can feel comfortable knowing all aspects of business with ODG will be covered.
